Elfrieda Stewart Tamba (EST) is a committed nationalistic Liberian female who has served in key positions in both the public and private sectors. She is the former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Liberia Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI) where she climbed the ladder from a cadet to the position of CFO. She was one of the astute pillars at the LBDI that ensured the survival of the Bank during the war years amidst the failure of all other Liberian banks. EST later transitioned from the private sector to the public sector. Upon entry in the public sector, she served as Deputy Minister of Finance for Revenue where she commenced the transformation of Tax Administration in Liberia driving revenue mobilization, integrity and growth concomitant with the automation and professionalization of tax administration. She is also the former Head of the Liberia Revenue Authority Formation Office, who effectively marshaled the establishment of the Liberia Revenue Authority and became its first Commissioner General where she successfully continued her transformational work in many spheres including further strengthening of revenue mobilization, automation, national consciousness with respect to paying taxes, fighting corruption amongst others. Mrs.Tamba is the former Chair of the West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF), former member of the governing Council of the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), former member of the UN Committee of Experts on International Taxation, and a former Co-Chair of Addis Tax Initiative. Mrs.Tamba is a well-accomplished achiever who served in the aforesaid positions driving and delivering pivotal sea changes while attaining impactful landmark and monumental results. |
